Regarding maintenance, as mentioned above, the leather is heavily impregnated with oils such as beeswax, so a white residue may appear on the surface.
You can see the white oil floating on the top right part of the photo.
Gently wipe it with a dry cloth or buff it gently with a soft brush.
It's a bit hard to see in the photo, but it develops a beautiful shine.
