HORWEEN is a leather tanning manufacturer founded in Chicago, USA in 1905. For over 100 years, the leather they tan using traditional methods has been unchanging, resulting in a unique presence that is incomparably beautiful, delicate, and yet sturdy.
HORWEEN is famous for two types of leather: Chrome Excel Leather and Shell Cordovan. Shell Cordovan in particular is known as the "diamond of leather" in the leather industry. Chrome Excel Leather is a HORWEEN original product name for cowhide leather that is tanned using a "combination tanning" method developed nearly 100 years ago, where carefully selected leather is tanned and then coated with a special oil that is a blend of more than four types of oils and fats, including beef tallow, beeswax, vegetable oil, and fish oil, and then allowed to penetrate the leather.
*Since natural leather is used, naturally occurring scratches and wrinkles, as well as the texture and color of the leather may differ from the photo.
