[UK SADDLE LEATHER]
The finest saddle leather from J&FJ Baker, a long-established British tannery. Using traditional tanning methods that date back to Roman times, the company still produces harness leather from locally raised bulls, taking the same care and time as they did centuries ago. The wax penetrates deep into the fibers of the leather, making it nearly twice as heavy as regular leather and excellent in strength and water resistance. All finishing is done by hand using traditional tools, with oils and greases optimal for each leather type. The leather is about 5-5.5mm thick and is skived for different uses. The appearance varies depending on the part of the hide; the butt area is relatively smooth, while the shoulder area has deep wrinkles. With use, it develops a deeper luster, darkens in color, and improves in texture.
