This belt features an iconic buckle with the same mechanism used to secure fire hoses.
It is said to have originated when British firefighters started using the metal fittings from hoses as buckles.
The design allows for quick release.
Made from Japanese saddle leather.

*Only the bends (buttocks part) of full vegetable-tanned leather are used.
Compared to regular tannin tanning, the leather is soaked in a pit tank for about a month longer, resulting in tighter fibers.
Normally, the flesh side (the fuzzy back) would be shaved off before dyeing, but by dyeing it with the flesh side still attached, it achieves firmness and stiffness.
After dyeing, the leather is polished with a high-pressure iron for a glossy finish.
When processing into a belt, the leather is skived to 5mm, the back is dyed and polished, and then it is cut.
The edges are chamfered by hand with a plane, and the dyeing and polishing process is smoothly finished by hand with glass.
With use, the color will deepen and develop a luster, improving the leather's character.

*The edge of the belt features a line called "Nen-biki" (creasing), which adds an accent to the design.

Due to the nature of products made from natural leather, there may be color variations between leather lots and differences in texture depending on the part of the hide. Additionally, there may be wrinkles (scars) or minor scratches from the animal's life, but these are considered within the range of individual differences.

Regarding size notation, individual differences may cause discrepancies with the stated measurements. A deviation of up to ±5mm is considered within the acceptable range.

Since each item is handmade, slight marks or machine traces from sewing, as well as minor misalignment or fading in foil stamping, are unavoidable due to the manufacturing process and are considered within the product's specifications. Thank you for your understanding.

Metal parts made of brass, silver, etc., may change color over time due to aging. While we polish them before shipping, some slight discoloration may occur by the time they arrive. Furthermore, for items that have undergone processes such as antiquing, there will be individual differences in color for each piece.

Sand-cast products such as buckles, which are finished by hand, will have unique shapes and textures for each individual part, even if they are the same.
